Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Designer for a hybrid contract opportunity in New York, NY.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
):
  • 3-4 years of experience designing graphics for men's apparel (knits, tees, fleece, polos, etc.)
  • Proven ability to develop innovative, brand-right graphic concepts and typography.
  • Strong sketching and illustration skills.
  • Deep understanding of the Brands' lifestyle brand demographics and market positioning.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; familiarity with digital collaboration tools such as Miro is a plus.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong attention to detail and a passion for creative excellence.
  • Portfolio required.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the creative exploration and execution of graphic design concepts within assigned apparel categories, ensuring consistency with brand direction.
  • Design original, trend-right artwork that aligns with seasonal direction and brand aesthetics.
  • Develop unique typographic treatments, illustrations, and layout solutions for apparel applications.
  • Own the graphic direction for assigned product categories while partnering with the Design team to ensure cohesive seasonal storytelling.
  • Research and interpret design trends using social media platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram), market analysis, and historical data to inform design direction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Design, Merchandising, and Production to deliver designs that meet creative and business objectives.
  • Utilize shared digital collaboration tools (e.g., Miro) to brainstorm, present, and refine design concepts.
  • Prepare and present trend and inspiration boards to communicate seasonal design vision.
  • Maintain organized digital design libraries and reference materials.
  • Own the adaptation and final production of approved artwork for assigned categories, ensuring timely execution aligned with the corporate calendar.
  • Present design concepts and seasonal assortments to senior leadership.
