Job Description

A well‑established structural and civil engineering firm based in Cleveland is seeking a full‑time, in‑office CAD Designer to join its growing team. Founded in the mid‑1980s, the firm has spent nearly four decades delivering engineering services to owners, developers, architects, and contractors across the region and nationwide. Its portfolio includes new construction, additions, structural repairs, modifications, surveys, and construction assistance across commercial, industrial, institutional, historic and residential structures. The company's team includes engineers, designers, and technical specialists who support projects ranging in scale from small consulting engagements to multimillion‑dollar developments. The firm is known for its responsive service, technical expertise, and long‑standing client relationships built throughout Northeast Ohio and beyond. Role Overview The CAD Designer will work closely with structural and civil engineers to transform conceptual input into accurate, high‑quality construction documents. This is a hands‑on role involving drafting, document coordination, and occasional field assistance. The position requires daily, in‑person collaboration at the firm's Cleveland‑area office. Key Responsibilities Prepare clear, accurate working plans and detailed drawings based on engineer input. Use AutoCAD and Revit to produce construction documents following established CAD/BIM standards. Assist in maintaining and improving drafting standards, quality, and consistency. Support engineers during field visits, as needed, to gather design information. Coordinate with internal and external clients to issue deliverables, respond to project‑related questions, and assist with basic project management tasks. Participate in construction administration, including drawing reviews and responses to RFIs. Collect information and assist with reports, correspondence, and documentation. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in construction drafting (structural experience preferred). Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Competent in Microsoft Office and standard office software. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and problem‑solve. Degree not required•equivalent experience is welcome.
