About the Opportunity This is an open position with FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The Distribution Designer is responsible for the designed construction, relocation, and new business work for the Distribution function of the Company. The Designer leverages customer service, software use, and learned expertise in design standards and regulatory requirements. This individual acts as a regular point of contact for internal and external customers through the lifetime of various projects and tasks. This position is on site at either the Gettysburg or Hanover Service Centers in Gettysburg / Hanover, Pennsylvania.Responsibilities include:
Demonstrating and directing a solid commitment to all aspects of safety. Utilizing FirstEnergy construction standards and engineering practices to complete single- and 3-phase overhead and underground designs to serve residential, commercial, and industrial requests. Supporting job progress through customer contacts, field work, job packages, and job closeout functions including material review and paperwork verification. Facilitating billing functions for line extension and applicable relocation work, including billing recommendations in non-routine scenarios. Facilitating completion of outage management system (OMS) follow-up requests, inspection and maintenance repairs, streetlight installation and replacement, claims, Transmission priority repairs, aerial patrol findings, and Job & Contracting (J&C) projects. Acquiring permits related to railroad, Department of Transportation, and municipality road right-of-way. Collaborating with customers to secure and document easements for line extensions and highway relocation work.
