We collaborate closely with a community of scientists and experts to develop accurate, high-quality content for our readers. Role Description This is a part-time, on-site cartography / infographic design intern role based in Tucson/Green Valley, Arizona. Working with a mentor, the intern will assist in designing clear, well-designed accurate maps (including topographic), geologic diagrams and infographics, sometimes based on sketches and other times on discussions. Qualifications Familiarity with and access to ARC GIS Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) Attention to detail, including accuracy in labeling, scales, and visual hierarchies Ability to conduct focused Research to support accurate, data-informed maps and infographics. Effective communication skills and openness to feedback in a collaborative studio setting. Eye for design

$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
