Job Description:
Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with a full-service commercial office furniture and workplace design firm to find a Designer to join their team. This role blends design, consulting, and client-facing collaboration, supporting sales and project teams in delivering highly functional, well-designed workplace environments. This is a great opportunity for a designer who enjoys being involved in the full project lifecycle, from early planning and space concepts through installation and close-out, in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Baltimore, with in-office work Monday-Thursday and remote work available on Fridays.
Responsibilities:
Partner with sales and project teams to understand client needs, workplace strategy, and project scope Attend client meetings, planning sessions, and site walks Review architectural plans, conduct field measurements, and assess site conditions Develop and present space plans, furniture layouts, and finish concepts Create and manage accurate drawings, specifications, and project documentation Coordinate with external partners such as architects, general contractors, IT and electrical vendors Support order entry and installation by delivering complete, approved documentation Review final installations and produce as-built drawings Manage time and project scope to support accurate billing and delivery Stay current on workplace trends, products, and design tools
Qualifications:
Hands-on experience working within a furniture dealer setting required Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field Experience working in a client-facing, project-based environment Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once Proficiency in design and documentation tools (AutoCAD, CET, or similar)
