Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Blairsville, Georgia, designs, and manufactures custom modular offices, mezzanines, equipment platforms, cleanrooms, security buildings, guard booths, exterior structures, and solar canopy systems serving industrial, commercial, government, military, and manufacturing clients throughout North America. As a GSA Contract Holder, we deliver specialized engineered structures for Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, military installations, warehouses, distribution centers, and advanced manufacturing facilities. Our reputation is built on solving complex space and structural challenges through innovative engineering and custom fabrication. We are seeking a highly motivated Structural Design Engineer to join our Engineering Department and contribute to the design, analysis, and development of custom steel structures and modular building systems. Position Summary The Structural Design Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager and play a critical role in the design, analysis, and documentation of structural steel systems used in modular buildings, mezzanines, elevated work platforms, equipment support structures, solar canopies, and other custom-engineered products. The ideal candidate will possess strong structural analysis capabilities, extensive steel design experience, and a thorough understanding of applicable building codes and engineering standards. This position requires collaboration with sales, project management, manufacturing, and customers to develop safe, cost-effective, and code-compliant structural solutions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Structural Design & Analysis Design structural steel systems for modular buildings, mezzanines, elevated platforms, equipment support structures, and custom engineered projects. Perform structural calculations for dead loads, live loads, wind loads, snow loads, seismic loads, and equipment loads. Design steel framing systems, columns, beams, connections, foundations, bracing systems, and anchorage details. Analyze structural performance using engineering software and hand calculations. Ensure all designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and customer specifications. Engineering Documentation Create and review structural design packages, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, and engineering calculations. Develop detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) for fabrication and procurement. Review shop drawings and fabrication details for accuracy and manufacturability. Prepare sealed engineering calculations and drawings when required. Project Support Work closely with Sales, Estimating, Project Management, and Manufacturing teams during project development and execution. Provide engineering support during fabrication, installation, and field troubleshooting. Respond to customer technical inquiries and review project requirements. Participate in design reviews and value engineering efforts to optimize structural performance and cost efficiency. Quality & Compliance Ensure designs meet OSHA, IBC, AISC, ASCE, AISI, AWS, and other applicable standards. Conduct peer reviews and design verification checks. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department. Maintain engineering records, calculations, and project documentation. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related engineering discipline. Minimum 3 years of structural design experience involving industrial-grade steel structures, modular buildings, mezzanines, platforms, or similar engineered systems. Strong knowledge of structural steel design principles and connection design.

Steel Construction Manual AISI Cold-Formed Steel Design Standards OSHA requirements Ability to independently perform structural calculations and engineering analysis. Experience reviewing construction, fabrication, and shop drawings. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain licensure. Experience designing prefabricated or modular building systems. Experience with mezzanines, equipment platforms, industrial structures, or material handling systems. Knowledge of structural connection design and welding standards. Familiarity with government, military, or GSA-related projects. Experience supporting manufacturing and fabrication operations. Technical Skills Required Software Experience AutoCAD Autodesk Inventor, Revit, or similar 3D modeling software Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook Structural analysis software such as: RISA-3D STAAD.Pro RAM Structural System

Similar structural engineering software Additional Skills Ability to interpret engineering specifications, contracts, and technical documents. Strong understanding of fabrication processes and structural steel manufacturing. Experience preparing and reviewing engineering calculations.
