Job Description We are hiring a Senior Manager, - Architectural Design for a top hospitality client! This position is responsible for supporting the architectural needs of the Design & Construction Department for hotels. Remote role either in the Parsippany, NJ or Dallas, TX area Pay Rate:
$62/hour Responsibilites:
Review architectural plans, specifications, and design submittals for franchise renovation projects, new construction, and conversion properties. Conduct Property Improvement Plan (PIP) site visits for new and existing properties. Write Property Improvement Plans (PIPs) based on site visits and Brand design standards. Oversee junior team members or consultants in the completion of work. Develop documents and processes to streamline workload and improve team output. Independently solve problems and make time-critical decisions. Provide conceptual designs for renovation of existing properties, PIP projects, and potential new construction projects. Provide support to Franchisees and their outside consultants by communicating clearly and concisely as it pertains to the D&C Design Guidelines and Brand Standards. Manage multiple projects at various stages of development simultaneously. Manage and understand multiple Brands with unique requirements and apply the correct standards to each project accordingly. Provide graphic media (renderings, sketches, diagrams, etc.) for architectural enhancements using Bluebeam, Photoshop, or SketchUp. Maintain and update prototype plans and specification manuals. Apply Brand standards to all projects. Coordinate with multiple departments and personnel to align Brand interests for property development. Develop various design solutions that address required design and operational programs. Perform site visits to hotels under construction to review compliance with approved plans, device and fixture locations, and general compliance with documents and prototype standards. Education & Experience:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture required. Minimum Experience:
8-10 years of experience in commercial architecture. Experience with hospitality, multifamily, and retail projects preferred. Architecture licensure preferred but not required. Minimum Skill Requirements:
Proficient in AutoCAD. Proficient in Bluebeam and Adobe Acrobat software. Capable of using digital photography equipment and photo modification software (Photoshop). Proficient in 3D computer programs such as SketchUp and Revit. Proficient in Microsoft Office products. Possesses managerial skills necessary to direct temporary workers or interns. Work is analytical, non-standard, and widely varied, requiring interpretation and application of a variety of policies and procedures. Analytical ability and inductive thinking are required for multiple technical activities. Problem solving involves identifying and analyzing diverse issues. Makes analytical decisions; supervision is present to establish and review broad objectives related to position duties or divisional responsibilities. Independent judgment is required to study previously established guidelines, plan interrelated activities, and coordinate such activities within a work unit, division, or project. Responds to and handles unfamiliar situations. Possesses intermediate knowledge of theories and practices within a professional field. Writes reports using technical data requiring considerable interpretation and develops new methods and procedures. Frequently applies knowledge to practical issues and problems. Solves problems involving the identification and analysis of diverse issues. Solutions are generally found by reviewing standard technical manuals and administrative procedures and adapting them to unusual situations. Completes work requiring original and creative thinking to develop new, moderately complex results. Results generally impact several work groups, a large project, or an extended customer base. Applies established technology solutions and recommends technology improvements to enhance individual or team efficiency and effectiveness. Serves as a lead project team member, reviewing the work of others and assisting in the training of new team members. Requires regular internal contacts to carry out programs and explain non-specialized matters, as well as occasional contact with higher-level officials requiring cooperation, explanation, and persuasion. Requires regular external contacts to carry out organizational programs and explain non-specialized matters. Maintains customer, service, or business relationships while escalating complex issues as appropriate. Physical Requirements Fluctuating travel demands, including overnight travel, may be required up to 50% of the time. Must be able to fly frequently and drive rental cars to and from project sites. Work is primarily performed in a normal office environment. May work independently or closely with others. Work is completed primarily while seated, with intermittent standing and stooping. May be required to perform light lifting or carrying. Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment and handling stressful situations. Must be able to respond to multiple task interruptions while maintaining professional and courteous service to internal and external customers. May be required to walk, sit, and/or stand for extended periods. Requires good hearing. Requires good near and distant vision. Requires the ability to distinguish colors and perceive depth.
