Job Description
Control System Designer On-site in Houston, TX Job Description Responsibilities Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop engineering drawings and 3D models for moderate to advanced complexity projects Produce detailed drafting deliverables and engineering design documentation with a strong understanding of design principles and drafting standards Generate and modify engineering drawings, layouts, and design details with minimal supervision Interpret engineering requirements and field direction to create accurate design solutions and construction-ready documentation Review and check completed design work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project standards Develop project estimates, schedules, staffing projections, progress reports, quantity tracking reports, and scopes of work Support multi-discipline engineering and construction projects within industrial or highly regulated environments Basic Qualifications Working knowledge of applicable federal regulations (including Department of Energy Orders), state, and local codes and standards related to engineering design Combination of education and minimum ten (10) years of drafting and design experience supporting engineering and construction projects Associate degree preferred Experience supporting nuclear or other highly regulated industrial projects preferred Background must include drafting and design experience within one or more of the following disciplines: Electrical Mechanical Structural Communications Architectural Fire Protection Civil Engineering Preferred Experience Strong proficiency with CAD platforms and drafting applications 3D modeling experience preferred, including Smart 3D (S3D) or similar modeling software Ability to work independently while coordinating with engineering, construction, and project management teams Experience developing detailed design packages and supporting field execution activities
