Job Title:
Project Architect (Junior-Level) Job Description This junior-level Project Architect role supports the design and delivery of projects across a variety of sectors in Salt Lake City. It is ideal for an early-career professional with a strong foundation in design and documentation who wants to grow within a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment. You will contribute across multiple project phases, gradually take on greater responsibility, and help uphold both design quality and overall team performance. Responsibilities Support design, documentation, and coordination across multiple phases of architectural projects. Assist in preparing drawings and models for schematic design, design development, and construction documentation. Apply a working knowledge of building systems, codes, and construction methods to project work. Coordinate with internal team members and external consultants on assigned project components. Support the development of client presentation materials, including graphics, renderings, and diagrams. Assist with construction administration tasks, including responding to RFIs, processing submittals, and preparing addenda. Maintain organization, consistency, and quality across all project deliverables. Collaborate closely with senior staff and contribute to a team-oriented studio environment. Participate in a mentorship-focused culture, seeking and applying feedback to improve design and technical skills. Support overall project efficiency by meeting deadlines and communicating progress effectively. Essential Skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field. Typically 2-5 years of professional architectural experience. Proficiency in Revit for design, documentation, and coordination. Basic understanding of building codes, construction documentation, and coordination practices. Working knowledge of building systems and construction methods. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with team members and consultants. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain consistency across deliverables. Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to apply sound judgment in project work. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a studio environment. Actively pursuing architectural licensure preferred, though licensure is not required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with additional design tools such as SketchUp. Familiarity with Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. Interest in professional development, including continuing education and licensure support. Comfort preparing graphics, renderings, and diagrams for client presentations. Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and a mentorship-driven culture. Work Environment The role is based in a studio environment that emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and clear growth opportunities. The standard schedule follows a Monday through Friday workweek with a 9/80 schedule, providing every other Friday off. The team uses Revit as a primary design and documentation tool, with additional use of SketchUp and other digital design platforms as needed.
