Job DescriptionJoin KPFF Lacey team in a fun, dynamic office setting as a motivated, energetic and passionate civil design engineer with 4-6 years of experience who is eager to expand your design and project management skills. In addition to strong technical knowledge, other responsibilities will include research, coordination, permitting, and preparation of construction documents as well as technical specifications. This position will provide the opportunity for you to expand your design skills with a diverse array of projects in a collaborative team environment.

Our engineers work in dynamic teams with open communication and strong support from senior-level mentors. We encourage decision-making at the closest level to ensure we efficiently and effectively serve our clients and promote professional growth for our staff. This position provides opportunities to work on a variety of projects for both public agencies and private developers which include:

Commercial Site DevelopmentParks and Recreation FacilitiesMulti-family / Residential DevelopmentWater SystemsSewer Lift StationsRoadway InfrastructureMunicipal InstitutionsWe provide the opportunity for our engineers to take part in all aspects of the design process and look for candidates who want to be challenged and stretch outside their comfort zone. General project tasks that our engineers perform are as follows:

Site planningPrepare construction drawingsAnalyze and design water, sewer, and storm systemsSite grading and stormwater management designPrepare technical reportsPrepare project specificationsPrepare project cost estimatesReview and submit permit applicationsProvide construction administration supportCommunicate with design consultants, municipalities, contractors, and clientsAttend site visitsQualificationsB.S. Degree or higherP.E. License in Washington Must have 4-6 years of experience in site development engineering experienceAutoCAD and Civil 3D experienceKnowledge of codes, regulations, and standards applicable to the design and construction of major site development projects in WashingtonExcellent communication, teamwork, and collaborative skills are essentialCompetency, accountability, and personal commitment to deliver quality work to our clientsPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentAbility to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer, reviewing plans, or conducting site visits.

Occasionally, it may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs.

Occasionally, visiting project locations and performing field inspections which may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.

Additional InformationCompensation The base salary for this role is competitive, with a range of $95,000 - $120,000 determined by experience, education, and skills. KPFF also offers performance-based bonuses to recognize outstanding contributions. Additional details about the full compensation package will be provided during the interview process.
