Job Description

We are a leading commercial furniture dealership dedicated to designing inspiring, functional, and people-centered work environments. Our team partners closely with clients across corporate, education, healthcare, and specialty markets to deliver workspace solutions that blend creativity, technical accuracy, and exceptional service. We're looking for a designer who communicates with clarity, collaborates with intention, and brings design solutions to life for clients, teammates, and project partners. Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities Develop space plans, furniture layouts, and typicals using industry-standard software (CET Designer, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar). Prepare detailed specifications, finish palettes, and product recommendations for furniture packages. Bring designs to life through renderings, visualizations, 3D models, and compelling presentation materials that clearly communicate design intent. Articulate design solutions both verbally and visually to clients, sales teams, project managers, and installers. Collaborate with sales teams to interpret client needs and develop creative, functional, and cost-effective solutions. Participate in client meetings, programming, presentations, and design workshops. Ensure clarity and accuracy of drawings and specifications throughout all phases of the project. Support team during order entry, installation, and punch list completion with design-related clarifications. Maintain strong knowledge of furniture lines, textiles, and industry trends. Conduct site visits for field measurements, verification, and post‑occupancy needs. Serve as a representative of our company within the design community—attending industry events, developing vendor relationships, and participating in professional groups or networking opportunities as appropriate. Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field. 1-5+ years of experience in commercial interiors, preferably within a commercial furniture dealership or contract furniture setting. Proficiency in CET Designer, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design platforms; experience with rendering tools a strong plus. Strong understanding of space planning, ADA requirements, building codes, and basic construction concepts. Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills, especially in conveying design intent to both technical and non-technical audiences. Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities. A team-oriented mindset paired with the ability to work independently. Professional presence and confidence when engaging in the design community, industry events, or vendor presentations. What We Offer Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package Opportunities for ongoing training, manufacturer education, and professional development Supportive, creative team environment Exposure to a wide range of project types and clients
