Job Description

Join our team and take your expertise to the next level by traveling across Alaska's remote regions to maintain and repair critical power generation systems. When you're not in the field, you'll be working right at our dealership service shop, applying your skills in a well-equipped, professional environment. This role offers the best of both worlds: the excitement of travel and exploration, paired with steady, hands-on shop work that keeps Alaska powered.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, Troubleshoot, and Repair mechanical and Electrical issues on power generation systems.
  • Utilize diagnostic software to interface with engine and generator control systems for troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
  • Read and interpret work orders or Technical instructions from management to determine work requirements.
  • Inspect, test, and optimize power generation systems and components.
  • Dismantle and reassemble generator systems for maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating power generation systems.
  • Collaborate with the Service and Parts Manager to order necessary materials, supplies, and components.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements, Education, Knowledge, and Skills:
  • Provide your own tools.
  • Be willing to travel overnights for repairing power generators in remote locations
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a power generation mechanic or technician.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs on power generation systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of power generation systems and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with occupational hazards and safety precautions specific to power generation systems.
  • Physically capable of performing activities requiring dexterity and strength, including lifting to 90 lbs.
  • Valid Alaska Driver's License required.
