Technology, Software, IT, Electronics Description Description SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician to support their team in Huntsville, AL . The Engineering Technician will be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks: Work with electrical engineer to design electrical cabling solutions to meet MIL standards and requirements specific to the IDM OSR. Work with electrical engineers to fabricate and assemble custom electrical cabling as per design specifications, focusing on high-quality workmanship and adherence to industry/MIL standards. Assist with document cable designs, assembly processes, testing results, and modifications accurately for reference and future builds. Provide detailed reports on test results, modifications, repairs, or any compliance deviations. Conduct detailed tests on electrical cabling and IDM systems to ensure compliance with MIL standards and specific OSR requirements. Identify and troubleshoot issues in cabling and electrical systems; develop and implement repair or improvement solutions. Ensure cables and systems can withstand environmental stressors such as temperature, vibration, and humidity as required to meet Hardware Qualification. Modify designs and existing IDM cabling as needed to meet evolving requirements. Conduct rework or repairs on IDM systems, ensuring components meet required operational standards. Support the updating of legacy IDM systems through the integration of modern, open systems enhancements. Assist Production team with IDM 401 builds as needed and with manufacturing processes related to IDM units, ensuring quality and on-time delivery. Assist with managing and tracking materials needed for cabling, testing, and production processes. Assist with logistics tasks related to packaging and shipping completed IDM units or returned items for repairs.
Qualifications Required Education:
Associate's degree in related discipline and one (1) year related experience; High School and two (2) years of related experience with relevant certification.
Required Clearance:
Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.
Required Skills:
Experience in fabrication with assemblies, repairs, and modifications. Expertise with cabling.
