Lockheed Martin's Space Metrology Operations provides the essential backbone that ensures our measurement and test equipment (M&TE) are calibrated and certified to the highest standards, supporting critical production milestones. We are seeking a Senior Metrologist to lead our Huntsville metrology laboratory and support calibration activities for both the Huntsville and Courtland, Alabama sites. Key Responsibilities Serve as the Team Lead for the Metrology Operations area. Provide training and mentorship to non‑exempt calibration technicians. Guide work assignments and prioritize tasks to meet program requirements. Develop calibration methods and procedures grounded in measurement‑science principles. Perform calibrations on a variety of electronic, dimensional, and torque equipment. Conduct quality checks on technician output to ensure accuracy and compliance. Review documentation and process items calibrated by approved external vendors. Interact with local customers to support program objectives and the overall metrology mission. A majority of calibration work is done on‑site at customer locations; weekly travel between the Huntsville and Courtland campuses is required (company vehicle provided). Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education Strong experience in a Metrology Laboratory with similar level of capabilities (Diversity of Disciplines and Level of Uncertainties - pressure, mass, dimensional, electronics, and torque) Minimum 5 years experience calibrating / adjusting electronic or physical / dimensional test and measurement equipment within an ISO/IEC 17025
compliant QMS. Ability to calculate overall measurement uncertainties and test uncertainty ratio (TUR). Ability to perform statistical analysis of data to determine associated risk and reliability. Have and maintain a valid driver's license Must be a U.S. Citizen, w/Ability to obtain & maintain DOD Secret Clearance Desired Skills:
BS Degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or formal military PMEL training. Experience developing calibration procedures Internal/external customer service experience. 10+ years experience calibrating / adjusting electronic or physical / dimensional test and measurement equipment. Prior experience as technical lead for small / medium team(s) Experience with advanced measurement uncertainties Experience in risk analysis, end of period reliability, and probability of false acceptance. Good verbal & written communications Skills. Proficient using computers and major components of MS Office Suite. Security Clearance Statement:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.
