Job Description
Main Responsibilities / Essential Functions Develop, program and maintain PLC, HMI and SCADA systems Support Level 1 automation and interface with Level 2 systems Trouble shoot drives, motors, instrumentation and networks Optimize control logic for throughput and stability Diagnosing and resolving automation issues Support maintenance and operations teams Lead root cause analysis Reduce downtime and improve reliability Optimize control parameters and product quality Implement continuous improvement initiatives Support data collection and analysis Lead automation related capital projects Help manage contractors and vendors Complete required training within designated timeframes and attend all required meetings Understand and support the company's goals and values and adhere to company, department, safety, quality , environmental, and ethics policies and procedures About You / Qualifications Required High School diploma or equivalent 2-3 years of experience in industrial automation Strong PLC programming background Experience with
HMI/SCADA
systems Knowledge of drives, motors, sensors and instrumentation Ability to read electrical schematics Organizational and time management skills Understanding of industrial safety standards and procedures Good communication, collaboration, interpersonal and teamwork skills Preferred AS or BS in electrical engineering, mechatronics or related field 3+ years of experience in industrial automation Experience in the steel industry Knowledge of industrial protocols Familiarity with MES and Level 2 systems Experience with predictive maintenance
