Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Product Repair/Mod Technician (Level C) for a contract opportunity in Maxwell
AFB, AL. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
):
  • Military Aviation Avionics experience
  • Maintenance documentation; forms and computer databases
  • How to use special tools and equipment related to Avionics
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with USAF reserve unit maintaining MH-139 Grey Wolf. Troubleshoots integrated conventional weapons systems, electronic and electromechanical components, fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, subassemblies, Alternate Mission Equipment, and test equipment to determine nature of malfunctions and corrective actions required both on and off equipment. Performs maintenance, repair, inspection, fabrication and modification of integrated conventional weapons systems electronic and electro-mechanical components, fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, and their subassemblies for both on and off equipment. Removes/installs integrated conventional weapons systems electronic components, fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, bomb navigation systems, and subassemblies for both on and off equipment and associated test equipment. Performs pretest, operational, functional, electrical, mechanical, and final testing of integrated conventional weapon systems electronic components fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, bomb navigation systems, and their subassemblies both on and off equipment. Accomplishes configuration changes of integrated conventional weapons control, launch, release, and suspension assemblies on assigned aircraft and equipment based on mission requirements. Performs explosive operations, loads and unloads, positions, arms, and safes all assigned conventional air munitions and pyrotechnics on assigned aircraft and or equipment. Controls tools, cleans work area and equipment and completes work control documents in accordance with established procedures. Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes. Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul. Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment. Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components. Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results). Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Oversees training. Works under general direction.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • US Air Force Aviation Maintenance experience
  • Helicopter maintenance experience
  • Flightline Operations experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to perform work in all areas of the helicopter.
  • Must be able to lift/carry 40 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
