About the Role Stronghold Contracting Group is a telecommunications construction company specializing in fiber infrastructure for commercial and government projects. We are hiring an additional Fiber Manager to lead our fiber optic splicing and installation operations across active project sites. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced fiber professional who can direct crews, own splice quality and production, and serve as the technical authority for the fiber program. Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Fiber Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of fiber optic network deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting. In this vital role, you will coordinate field service operations, manage heavy equipment and specialized tools, and ensure the successful installation and splicing of fiber optic cables. Your expertise in telecommunication infrastructure, cabling, and network systems will drive the efficiency and reliability of our fiber networks. What You Will Do Manage daily fiber splicing and installation operations across assigned project sites, directing splicers, fiber techs, and the Fiber Coordinator. Assign and sequence crew tasks based on project schedules, site readiness, and resource availability, and intervene when variances threaten delivery. Serve as the primary technical resource for complex splicing scenarios, fiber routing decisions, and quality acceptance determinations. Review splice loss results, OTDR test documentation, and installation records, requiring corrective action when results miss specification. Develop and enforce splice and installation quality standards, documentation requirements, and test procedures for the fiber team. Supervise and develop splicers and fiber techs, providing task direction, performance feedback, and on-the-job coaching. Coordinate with Project Managers and Construction Managers on work sequencing, site access, and schedule integration. Represent the fiber team in project meetings and client quality reviews, and provide regular production and quality updates to leadership. What You Bring Required Minimum 5 years of progressive fiber optic splicing and installation experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Demonstrated proficiency in fusion splicing, ribbon splicing, OTDR testing, and splice enclosure management. Strong knowledge of fiber optic outside plant standards and client acceptance requirements. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record. Willingness to travel to active project sites, including multi-state travel and overnight stays as required. Preferred FOA or BICSI fiber optic certification. Experience managing splice crews on government or municipal fiber construction contracts. OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification. What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience.
