Job Description

Local Restoration Company in need of a Shop Mechanic!! Core Mechanical & Technical Skills Preventive maintenance and repair of light- and medium-duty fleet vehicles Engine diagnostics and repair (gas and diesel basics) Brake systems, suspension, steering, and drivetrain service Electrical systems troubleshooting (12V/24V, starters, alternators, wiring) Hydraulic and pneumatic system repair Cooling systems, belts, hoses, and fluid service Water Restoration & Specialty Equipment Maintenance and repair of water pumps (submersible, trash, centrifugal) Dehumidifier and air mover inspection, cleaning, and repair Generator maintenance and troubleshooting Small engine repair (gas-powered pumps, blowers, pressure washers) Hose, fitting, and seal replacement Equipment testing to ensure proper airflow, pressure, and output Diagnostics & Problem Solving Use of diagnostic tools and scan readers Identifying mechanical failures and root causes Performing functional tests after repairs Reading service manuals, schematics, and parts diagrams Shop & Fleet Operations Preventive maintenance scheduling for vehicles and equipment Fleet inspection and readiness checks Parts inventory management and ordering Shop organization and tool maintenance Accurate service documentation and maintenance logs Safety & Compliance OSHA-compliant shop safety practices Lockout/tagout procedures Proper handling of fuels, oils, and chemicals Safe operation of lifts, jacks, and power tools Soft Skills (Important for the Role) Time management and ability to prioritize urgent repairs Clear communication with supervisors and field technicians Dependability and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Apply ASAP!
