Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing Process Engineering and Mechanical Engineering design support. Work in concert with the department head to coordinate and execute the creation of CAD files for finished parts, tooling fabrication, fixtures, and other components as required by the various departments within State Seal Company. Activity also requires the control of all engineering drawings created in a fashion that meets requirements for Document Control.

Essential Job Functions:

• Create 2D and 3D files by reverse engineering customer provided parts
• Create technical drawings from CAD models
• Review customer supplied technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing feasibility
• Work in conjunction with vendors to design tooling and fixtures that meet vendor manufacturing capabilities while remaining within budget parameters
• Gain experience on a range of projects from early concept through production
• Create CAD models of production products, as well as advanced concepts
• Review prototype tooling and fixtures for quality and original design intent
• Collaborate with customer design and engineering teams to identify opportunities, solve design issues, and maintain design intent throughout the project
• Contribute to an evolving design culture and process within the design organization
• Improve and revise documents such as production instructions, acceptance test procedures, and bill of materials
• Identify opportunities to improve our products, production techniques, and part quality through various testing procedures
• Implement various business practices to improve cost, manufacturability, quality, reliability, longevity, and marketability

Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong attention to detail, mathematical aptitude, and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Good organizational skills required for project management
• Ability to present technical information both verbally and through written communication
• Conceptual skills
• Well versed with at least 1 major CAD program such as: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or Fusion 360
• Exhibits technical aptitude to analyze engineering drawings and understand GD&T concepts
• Familiarity with industry standard measuring tools

Education and Experience:

• Experience working in the manufacturing and/or mechanical engineering field
• Competent with computer skills and experience in CAD software
• Must be a US citizen

Chandler, AZ Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
• Dexterity to use hand-held measuring tools for prolonged periods
• Ability to stand for extended periods

Pay:

$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
