Work assignment involves applying technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions in support of Air Combat Training system (ACTS).
Typical duties include:
replacing components and wiring circuits; repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multimeters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. This position works under the technical guidance of a supervisor or higher level technician and work product is audited for accuracy. Electronics Technician I requires a high school diploma plus successful completion of an accredited Technical Apprentice Program in Electronics or equivalent military training and a minimum of two (2) years' experience at the journeyman level. Must satisfactorily complete all related positions and specific technical training. This job requires the physical capability to lift, maneuver, and carry ACTS pods in a variety of environments, including shop, warehouse, bay, and flight-line. Candidate must have or obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance. Must possess a valid state driver's license and meet all requirements for a flight-line driving competency card. Duties and requirements of this position include but are not limited to: Primary Responsibilities
- Transport, install, and remove AS/pods, including ancillary equipment.
- Ensure conformance to all Quality Management System Requirements, including plans, policies, procedures, and work instructions. Demonstrate commitment to quality policy and objectives, process orientation, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
- Verify proper subsystem electro-mechanical interfaces with aircraft.
- Assist with periodic, preventive, and corrective AS/Pod maintenance (including ancillary equipment), as well as assist with
GS/LM/RRU
maintenance as required.
- Respond to notification of malfunctioning Airborne Subsystems/pods, including applicable ancillary equipment
- Must use the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) to document repair actions taken, configuration management, component repair history, and component usage hours.
- Assist with system installation, preparation for use and reshipment.
- Identify and report corrections/improvements to technical data
- Identify and report product quality/material deficiencies
- Conduct inventories and maintain accountability records for Airborne Subsystems/pods, including ancillary and support equipment.
- Assist with inspection requirements and implement approved configuration changes.
- Perform equipment status reporting, as well as maintenance data collection/job documentation
- Assist with AS/pod installation & removal training, including ancillary and support equipment; assist with maintaining/updating training documentation as required.
- Assist in performing corrosion prevention and control.
