In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of low voltage and fiber optic systems across commercial environments. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of security, fire alarm, surveillance, structured cabling, fiber optic, telecommunication, and access control systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilize your technical skills, and contribute to the safety, connectivity, and security of our clients' environments. Responsibilities Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including fiber optic cabling, CCTV, security alarms, fire alarms, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), access control systems, and telecommunication networks. Perform fiber optic termination, splicing (fusion and/or mechanical), testing, and troubleshooting using industry-standard tools and equipment. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, fiber layouts, and technical manuals to accurately complete system installations and repairs. Conduct routine maintenance checks on existing low voltage and fiber systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and industry standards. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform copper and fiber cabling, conduit bending, termination, labeling, and equipment mounting tasks. Collaborate with project managers and field teams to coordinate installation schedules and ensure timely project completion. Diagnose system faults using remote access software or on-site inspections; implement effective solutions swiftly to minimize downtime. Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, test results (including fiber test documentation), and system documentation for all projects performed. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician or installer specializing in low voltage systems such as fiber optics , CCTV, security systems, fire alarms, sensors, or telecommunication networks. Hands-on experience with fiber optic infrastructure , including single-mode and multi-mode fiber, connectors, patch panels, and enclosures. Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts and hardware components related to security, surveillance, and fiber-based communication systems. Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for copper and fiber cabling and equipment installation. Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, fiber documentation , NEC (National Electrical Code) standards, and system design principles. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; experience with remote access software is a plus. Knowledge of construction practices related to low voltage and fiber optic cabling infrastructure in commercial or residential settings. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical and fiber-related issues efficiently while maintaining safety standards. Effective communication skills for working with clients, team members, and vendors in a fast-paced environment.
