This role provides technical and professional expertise to support the reliability, efficiency, and performance of plant automation and electrical systems. The technician plays a critical role in maintaining safe operations, improving product quality, and supporting continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical and automation issues using appropriate tools and software Test, maintain, and troubleshoot process instrumentation including flow meters, level transmitters, level switches, and related devices Perform PLC and DCS programming, troubleshooting, and repair Interpret and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, manuals, and control diagrams Repair and maintain electrical, electronic, and electromechanical production equipment Collect and analyze PLC input/output data to monitor equipment performance and support future operational improvements Maintain and troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs), motors, and motor control systems Update control documentation, drawings, and procedures to reflect field changes and process improvements Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and external contractors or vendors to resolve issues efficiently Support plant projects and provide technical input to management and engineering teams Follow all safety policies, safe work practices, and quality standards Maintain sanitary conditions and ensure product quality is maintained Manage and coordinate contractor and vendor activities as needed Perform other duties as assigned Job Requirements Ability to work a rotating 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour shifts High school diploma or GED required 2-year technical degree or certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Minimum of three years of industrial electrical and automation experience in a manufacturing environment Strong electronics background with experience in: 480V, 2300V, and 3-phase electrical systems AB/Rockwell PLCs, DC drives, and control logic Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and ladder logic Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and smart field instruments, including pressure, flow, temperature, level, analytical transmitters, valve positioners, valve actuators, and PID controllers Working knowledge of PLC/DCS system components and functionality Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Why Join Sofidel America
