In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic cables and related infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure reliable high-speed connectivity for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. Responsibilities Install fiber optic cables using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as bucket trucks and cranes. Perform fiber splicing with precision to ensure optimal signal transmission and minimal loss. Conduct cable routing, trenching, and conduit installation following schematics and technical drawings. Operate telecommunication equipment including switches, routers, LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet systems, and WAN (Wide Area Network) infrastructure. Test fiber optic links for continuity, loss, and performance using specialized testing devices; troubleshoot issues promptly. Climb utility poles or structures safely to access installation sites while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including schematics, network diagrams, and incident reports. Assist with electrical work related to low voltage systems such as telephony and IT infrastructure setups. Requirements Proven experience in field service roles involving telecommunication or construction environments. Ability to operate heavy equipment including bucket trucks, power tools, hand tools, and other construction machinery safely. Strong knowledge of fiber splicing techniques along with familiarity with schematics and network infrastructure diagrams. Experience working with computer networking components such as LAN, Ethernet cabling, switches, routers, and WAN systems. Skilled in climbing structures like utility poles or towers while maintaining safety standards. Electrical experience or background in low voltage wiring is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot network issues efficiently. Valid driver's license with clean driving record; certification in bucket truck operation is a plus. Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy equipment and working at heights for extended periods.
