The City of Phoenix Public Works Department strives to improve the quality of life in Phoenix through the efficient delivery of outstanding solid waste, fleet, facilities, and energy management services. The Public Works Department, Fleet Services Division and is looking for a Fuel System Support Technician to be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, skilled fuel site repair work and maintaining automotive shop support equipment at various City locations. Duties include diagnosing, repairing/servicing, testing, and calibrating petroleum equipment, fuel dispensers, site controllers, submersible fuel pumps, leak detection systems, and related maintenance shop equipment (i.e., automotive lifts, air lines, pressure washers, air compressors, etc.).IDEAL CANDIDATE
Knowledge of:
Petroleum leak detection and maintenance of these systems and equipment. Procedures, practices, tools and materials used in: Maintenance and repair of equipment. Electronics of fuel system interfacing, networking and wiring. Procedure and practices of working on voltages from SVDC to 660V AC. Maintenance and repair of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical shop support equipment.SALARY Pay Range:
$24.93 to $36.84 per hour.Hiring Range:
$24.93 to $33.41 per hour.Pay Range Explanation:

Lateral transfers occur when there is no change to the last two digits of the pay grade. Three years of experience performing skilled repair and maintenance work on liquid and gaseous fuel systems and shop support air compressors. Other combinations of related experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted. All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position. Must possess a valid Arizona class D operator license at time of hire. These positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.
