Volt is immediately hiring Photonics Engineering Technician at Carlsbad, CA Roles & Responsibilities of Photonics Engineering Technician at Carlsbad, CA Execute fabrication, assembly, integration, test, or inspection processes in accordance with detailed work instructions and drawings, such as: Optical Fiber Splicing and Recoating Fabrication, assembly, and inspection of photonic circuits Mechanical Builds and Assemblies Metal Soldering Microscopy and Profilometry Integration of COTS optical equipment (power meters & monitoring equipment, optical laser sources, etc.) per detailed architecture block diagrams and wiring diagrams Assistance with equipment calibration in accordance with vender or custom calibration procedures Communicate regularly with management to ensure team is meeting expectations for cost, schedule, and quality. Ensure preventative maintenance is performed regularly in accordance with documentation. Maintain and operate wire bonding, photomasking, epoxy application, and other systems commonly used for optical device fabrication. Maintain high standard for cleanliness, workspace organization, and reliability. This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity.

What We're Looking For:

Planning, layout, setup, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines. Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal or plastics to precision dimensions. Able to pin multiple materials together. Checks and inspects and builds machining operations against specified tolerances. May include work with fabrication, sheet metal operations, or machine hardware and assemblies. May also make recommendations concerning use of and improvement upon materials and design. Must be familiar with Acu-rite or similar program . Need to be meticulous

Pay Range:
