Why You'll Love This Role:
This is a fast-paced and exciting role which requires consistent high-level of performance and quality with strong emphasis on customer satisfaction. This role carries the responsibility of being a Diagnostic Technician for shop repairs, annual maintenance work, warranty repairs and occasionally going to customers' residences to affect a field diagnosis or repair. Work in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals You will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and quality control within their area of the Singer Aftersales workshop in a manner that demonstrates, "Everything is Important". Travel to support on location vehicle repairs, customer events, and vehicle development as required
What You'll Do:
Assess and root cause electrical issues on Singer vehicles Identify, diagnose and repair customer concerns per manufacturers' specification and guidelines including internal and external engine issues Use various types of electrical and mechanical diagnostic equipment to test and validate vehicle systems Read and understand OBD II codes with knowledge of the next steps required Accurately diagnose Air Conditioning systems on Singer vehicles Demonstrate proficiency in using a Digital Volt/Ohm Meter Diagnose and repair all manners of Electrical faults Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle to the customer Road test and validate repairs, service, or upgrades Perform wiring harness repairs Liaise with Product Experience team and Singer's global partner network to assist in remote diagnosing and repairs of vehicles in the field Travel to support on location vehicle repairs, customer events, and vehicle development as required
Who We're Looking For:
High school diploma Seven (7) plus years of experience within luxury automotive industry or equivalent brand/industry Five (5) plus years of specific experience in workshop repairs - with a strength in electrical Strong technical background in automotive mechanics Experience with engine and body control systems, ABS, ESP, data acquisition, hardware, and software tools Experience with MoTec, AEM, Mahle and Bosch vehicle systems Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in driving a manual transmission vehicle Bonus points for Electrical ASE or Porsche certification Must have a valid CA license and be able to be insured under the company's policy
Location & Schedule:
This position is onsite in Carson, CA and may involve some travel. The shift is Monday - Friday 5am-1:30pm with travel and overtime.
