Full-Time | Field-Based Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and maintain fiber optic cable systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on field experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while ensuring high-quality and safety-compliant network performance. Key Responsibilities Perform fiber optic cable splicing, termination, and testing for aerial and underground networks Read and interpret splice diagrams, engineering prints, and network maps Conduct OTDR testing, power meter testing, and fiber certification procedures Troubleshoot, locate, and repair fiber network faults and outages Maintain accurate splice records, test results, and field documentation Install and maintain fiber distribution panels, closures, and related equipment Coordinate with project managers and field teams to meet deadlines Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations Operate company vehicles and field equipment safely Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years of fiber optic splicing experience Experience with fusion splicing and fiber optic testing equipment Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fiber layouts Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to work in outdoor environments and physically demanding conditions Preferred Qualifications FOA, CFOT, or equivalent fiber certification Experience in FTTH, FTTX, telecom, or broadband projects Familiarity with OSHA safety standards Experience with aerial and underground fiber installations Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods Benefits Competitive hourly pay ($18-$35 based on experience) Training and career development opportunities Tools and equipment provided (as applicable) Standard company benefits as per assignment terms
