You will work in close collaboration with Optical Sensor & Camera Design groups within Apple to ensure the success of the current and future Apple products.","responsibilities":"Define end-to-end camera calibration and test strategies, and design/develop instrumentation and metrology to enable them. Design, prototype, and validate new metrology in the lab to ensure design readiness for NPI builds. Collaborate with design, algorithm, and operations teams to align on calibration requirements and coverage for new camera systems. Define spec trees by breaking down feature-level requirements into measurable parameters. Evaluate sensitivity to individual parameter accuracy, and set spec limits accordingly. Use simulation and synthetic data to evaluate calibration adaptability and edge-case performance. Analyze factory build data to evaluate GR&R capability, extract key performance trends, and perform failure mode analysis. Design experiments to drive root-cause analysis and propose corrective actions. Establish specifications and tolerances for key components and qualify equipment vendors to meet quality control requirements. Optimize calibration and test methodologies to achieve mass production efficiency targets. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and strategy to improve team capabilities/deliveries. Preferred Qualifications MS in EE/CS/CE/Physics/Optics or related technical field Experience with driving AI/ML projects Experience with fabrication and assembly of camera and optical sensors Experience with computer vision algorithms and image processing Experience with plotting, processing and mining data Experience with simulation workflows and synthetic dataset generation System engineering approach to quickly familiarize yourself with sophisticated processes (example factory infrastructure, mechanical design, algorithms and SW deployment) Effective in breaking down and prioritizing between many sophisticated tasks Minimum Qualifications BS in EE/CS/CE/Physics/Optics or related technical field 5+ years of relevant proven experience In-depth knowledge of camera/optical system working principles Experience with camera and optical sensor calibration techniques and metrology Very strong interpersonal skills with ability to deliver technical and executive-level presentations Programming experience in C, C++, Objective-C, or Python Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $305,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
