Job Description

Essential Functions:
Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging in Producers Dairy Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement and development opportunities. Conforms to and has department conform to Producers quality standards. Creates, updates, supports and monitors a preventative maintenance program for the Fairfield plant facility. Work with the parts clerk to establish parts ordering requirements to ensure that adequate supplies of appropriate spare parts are kept in stock with adherence to minimums and maximums. Assists in troubleshooting alongside fellow team members as needed on plant equipment. Performs needed repairs when required. Researches, suggests, and implements system upgrades. Ability to identify and describe each component of the HTST system. Demonstrate proficient use of Volt/Ohm meter. Demonstrate testing for a bad motor using continuity and megohmmeter tests. Ability to troubleshoot motor control circuits. Understand how to read electrical schematics. Ability to size, troubleshoot, and program Variable Frequency Drives. Ability to troubleshoot and test inputs and outputs on PLCs. Make sure we have current copies of all PLC programs and VFDs. Ability to troubleshoot and program SCL 500 PLCs with proficiency. Ability to troubleshoot PLC issues using Studio 5000 and Factory Talk. Ability to comprehend and make changes in Wonderware and Ignition software. Recognize obsolete controls systems and recommend upgraded controls systems. Responsible for implementing and commissioning equipment after a program change and or system upgrade. Troubleshoot and repair analog control circuits. Ability to design and build electrical panels. Understand and identify components and process of CIP system. Proficient in programming chart recorders and chemical pumps. Ability to calibrate level sensors, temperature sensors, flowmeters, and conductivity probes. Proficient in all areas of dairy processing, filling and packaging. Proficient in Blow mold electrical drawings and program for troubleshooting. Responsible for communication of all program changes via verbal and written document. Assists Maintenance Manager in prioritizing work. Analyzes and repairs specialized equipment heavily dependent on electrical controls, microprocessors controls, electro-mechanical mechanisms, and related components under general direction. Maintains a working understanding of plant production processes, equipment systems and facilities, in order to perform maintenance effectively under general directions. Has sufficient knowledge to be able to operate equipment for diagnostic repairs. Performs all work in a safe and professional manner and reports safety deficiencies immediately. Plan and orders parts and materials as required for assigned tasks. Maintains professional and appropriate dress, hygiene and personal appearance.
