Job Description

About Us Don Pedro Pump specializes in turn-key pumping systems that provide the best quality product for their customers. With 75 years of experience handling all aspects of a project, including well development, pump installation, electrical coordination and installation, Don Pedro Pump oversees and manages every aspect of a project to ensure that the customer receives the highest quality flow system solution as possible. The company makes it a priority to align themselves with premium vendors, suppliers, equipment and employees in order to best serve their customers and community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Process and repair returned pumping equipment, motors & systems, including pumps, controls, and valves in shop Evaluate and determine scope & method of needed repairs on a variety of pumps and controls Perform repair operations including troubleshooting, electrical preparation, mechanical repairs, bench assembly/disassembly and mechanical assembly Evaluate and test self-work to ensure compliance with work instructions and standards Coordinate and expedite other repair/assembly operations with production control and manufacturing supervisors Installation, maintenance and repair of electrical panels, pump and motor system at customer sites Perform inspections and preventative maintenance and service of pumps, compressors, controls, valves and systems as needed or as set out in equipment manuals Diagnose problems, replace, rebuild or repair multiple types of pumps and systems, test and make adjustments Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of pump equipment and components in the field Other duties as assigned
Expectations:
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas Prepare and maintain records and reports, including logs, work orders, etc. Establish and maintain effective working relations with co-workers and clients. Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers' service specifications Communicate effectively verbally and in writing On an emergency basis, you may be required to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays. You will also be on a 24 hour on-call basis for weekend emergencies on a rotating basis.

Must be able to use the internet to look up manuals and other documents required to perform your job.
Qualifications:
Good working knowledge of VTP, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, end suction, split case, motors, control panels, relays, capacitors, overloads and other motor controls such as soft start including VFD's, PLCs, etc. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work on and repair various pumps: potable water to sewage General understanding of electrical theory, Ohms Law Experience with electrical panels up to 480 volts. Able to use testing meters for low voltage and medium voltage and amps Highly motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision Good knowledge of hand tools, machinery, diagnostic and electrical test equipment Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical problems Light welding, cutting torch, plasma cutting is a plus Ability to interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing instructions, equipment manuals and test specifications, including capability to read and trace problems from electrical schematic Awareness of quality systems Ability to perform basic math skills in all units of measure Possess or able to get a CDL and crane operators license a plus.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma, or equivalent, and: 4+ years of experience in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial or electrical skills with some PLC experience
Other:
Most work is local, but have to be able to travel and work on site for up to one week at a time if needed. Non-exempt hourly position eligible for overtime Willing to obtain electrical license for working on pump stations, exchanging Like for Like parts Don Pedro Pump is a Drug Free Business. Employees must pass a pre-employment drug screen and will be expected to comply with all provisions of the company's substance abuse policy, including being subject to random testing Must have a good driving record
