Job Description

Join our dynamic team as either a Part-Time or Full-Time Funderland Amusement Park Ride Maintenance and Inspection Team member (we are currently hiring for one Full Time and One Part Time position), where you'll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and regular inspection of our amusement park rides and attractions to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance for our guests.
Important:
The full-time position is year-round and qualifies for additional benefits: health insurance and paid time off. The part-time position is seasonal during our annual operating season, which runs from mid-January through the end of November every year. (Funderland is closed to the public in December and January, and our part-time team members are on leave in December and early January, and then brought back for the new season in mid-January annually to prepare for the park's public reopening in February for the new season.) This energetic, hands-on role offers the opportunity to manage mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic ride systems, and contribute to an exciting, upbeat, fun environment that delights our visitors every day we're open to the public. Your skills will be vital in maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence, making each guest experience memorable and worry-free. Perform daily maintenance activities for all ride systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components. Coordinate and prioritize routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs to minimize ride downtime. Oversee troubleshooting of complex systems using schematics, electrical diagrams, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters. Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to electrical work, high voltage systems, and facilities management standards. Collaborate with project management teams on upgrades or new installations involving manufacturing or industrial equipment. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, safety inspections, and system upgrades to support regulatory audits and continuous improvement initiatives. Prepares and maintains purchase orders, work orders, safety meeting agendas, and incident accident reports. Maintain cleanliness of the rides, and organization of the shop, tools, and equipment. Follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO) and safety procedures required by OSHA. Assist with ride installations and decommissions. Respond to calls for maintenance checks, attraction shutdowns, and/or system faults. Must have your own vehicle for the purpose of obtaining maintenance and repair supply parts. (You will be reimbursed at the IRS mileage rate.) Be familiar with, and comply with, all park safety procedures, including emergency evacuation procedures for both the rides and the entire park. Complete other tasks or duties as they are assigned by your supervisor. Prioritize communication with your manager/supervisor at all times, in all situations. NAARSO and/or AIMS certifications a plus. Willing to take ongoing training and development to maintain compliance and enhance skills. Ability to read and interpret ride manuals. Valid California Driver License required. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, schematics reading, and troubleshooting electrical systems. Knowledge of electrical experience including low voltage and high voltage systems; ability to use testing tools such as ohmmeters effectively. Experience working with manufacturing or amusement ride systems is highly desirable, but not mandatory. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work days, weekends, special events, holidays, and occasional nights for private rental parties, to meet Funderland's business needs. Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull. Ability to stand/walk for long periods. Close and distant vision. Corrective lenses or contacts are acceptable. Work in extreme weather environments outdoors throughout the year. (Funderland is an all-outdoor venue.) Ability to diagnose potential problems through sound, sight, smell, and touch. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to use discretion when quickly responding to ride maintenance and emergency needs while in the public eye. You will occasionally interact with our guests while repairing rides when the park is open to the public, therefore upbeat communication and customer service is also an important part of this position.
Pay:
$23.00 - $27.00 per hour
