ABOUT CASSIDA
Cassida Corporation is a leading manufacturer and distributor of professional currency handling equipment — including bill counters, coin counters, and counterfeit detection devices — trusted by businesses, financial institutions, and retailers across North America. With a nationwide distribution network spanning Amazon, authorized dealers, and wholesale partners, Cassida is recognized as a premium brand in the cash management industry. We are a fast-growing, results-driven team based in San Diego, and we take pride in the quality of both our products and our people. POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Repair Technician to join our in-house service team in San Diego. In this role, you will be the technical expert responsible for diagnosing, repairing, calibrating, and quality-testing Cassida currency handling equipment returned by customers and dealers across the country. You will work hands-on in our facility, handling a high-quality queue of returned units — from bill counters and coin sorters to counterfeit detectors — and ensuring every repaired device leaves our shop in peak condition. This is not a field service role. It is a precision-focused, in-house position for someone who takes genuine pride in technical craftsmanship and efficient turnaround. If you have a strong background in electronics and electromechanical repair, a methodical approach to troubleshooting, and a drive to deliver quality work — this role is built for you. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Receive, inspect, and log returned equipment, documenting initial condition and reported failure for every unit Diagnose malfunctions using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools — identifying root cause at the component level Perform PCB-level repairs including soldering, desoldering, and replacement of electronic components (through-hole and SMD) Repair and service electromechanical assemblies including motors, sensors, rollers, belts, and drive systems Calibrate repaired units to factory specifications and conduct full post-repair functional testing Test counterfeit detection performance across all sensor types to verify compliance with Cassida quality standards Process both warranty and non-warranty repairs within established turnaround time targets Maintain accurate repair records, including failure codes, parts used, labor time, and resolution outcomes Identify recurring failure patterns across product lines and communicate findings to the Product and Technical Support teams Support parts inventory management — track component usage, flag low-stock items, and maintain an organized workbench Provide clear technical communication to the customer service team regarding repair status, findings, and timelines WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Required 2+ years of hands-on experience in electronics repair, electromechanical systems, or a related technical discipline Proficiency in PCB-level diagnosis and repair, including soldering and desoldering (through-hole and SMD) Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical service manuals Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and bench test equipment Strong mechanical aptitude — experience servicing motors, sensors, belts, rollers, and precision mechanical assemblies Methodical, organized approach to troubleshooting — you diagnose root cause, not just symptoms Ability to manage a queue of open repair jobs, prioritize effectively, and meet turnaround targets Clear written communication skills for repair documentation and cross-team coordination Preferred Prior experience repairing currency handling equipment, banking devices, POS systems, or similar commercial electromechanical products Familiarity with counterfeit detection technology (UV, magnetic, infrared sensors) Associate degree, vocational certification, or military technical training in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field Experience with warranty processing and repair tracking systems WHAT WE OFFER
Competitive compensation commensurate with experience Health, dental, and life insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid vacation and sick leave (after 90-day probationary period) Stable, full-time, on-site position in our San Diego facility A direct role with real impact — your work keeps Cassida products performing at the standard our customers expect Clear path for growth as the company scales Background check required.
