  • Modular Systems plays a critical role in diagnosing, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing returned industrial, medical, avionics, and embedded computing products.
Unlike traditional IT or data center repair roles, this position focuses on modular electronic assemblies, industrial control systems, and specialized customer equipment used in demanding operational environments. This role supports a best-in-class customer experience by ensuring accurate diagnosis, repair, testing, and documentation while meeting department turnaround objectives. The technician will work within a structured repair process utilizing proprietary test equipment, standardized work instructions, and quality systems to restore customer equipment to operational status. Key Responsibilities System Diagnostics & Repair Diagnose, troubleshoot, test, and repair modular industrial, medical, avionics, and embedded computing systems. Perform subassembly remove-and-replace repairs using documented work instructions, repair procedures, schematics, and fault trees. Utilize proprietary automated test equipment to verify system functionality and identify failures. Execute system upgrades, modifications, and repair activities according to approved work instructions and Special Repair Instructions (SRI). Quality, Documentation & Continuous Improvement Follow ISO-compliant procedures, standard operating procedures, and department quality requirements. Maintain accurate repair records, test results, failure analysis information, and inventory transactions within company systems. Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities when required. Collaboration & Technical Support Partner with Engineering and RMA Product Support teams to resolve complex or intermittent failures. Escalate advanced troubleshooting issues when component-level diagnostics or engineering analysis is required. Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding repair status, technical findings, and quality concerns. Qualifications Education & Experience Associate Degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Computer Technology, Avionics, or equivalent military/technical training. Minimum 5 years of hands-on troubleshooting, testing, repair, or maintenance experience involving electronic systems, industrial equipment, avionics, embedded systems, or modular assemblies. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or continuous improvement methodologies is preferred. Technical Skills Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, electromechanical, industrial, medical, avionics, or embedded systems. Ability to interpret technical documentation, work instructions, schematics, and fault trees. Experience utilizing electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, insulation testers, and automated test systems. Familiarity with Windows operating systems and basic computer troubleshooting. Experience with ERP systems, repair tracking systems, or manufacturing software is preferred.
