Job Description
Position Summary Technoprobe America is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Probecard / Socket Repair & Certification Technician to diagnose, repair, certify, and maintain advanced semiconductor test hardware. This role is critical in restoring the performance and reliability of probe cards and test sockets used in automated semiconductor testing environments for production, R D, and reliability applications. The ideal candidate has exceptional manual dexterity and fine motor skills, with the ability to work comfortably under microscopes using precision hand tools. Success in this role requires patience, steady hands, excellent visual attention to detail, and the ability to perform intricate repairs on miniature electromechanical components. Key Responsibilities Repair & Troubleshooting Diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical probe cards and test sockets following established procedures and technical documentation. Read and interpret electrical schematics, PCB drawings, and mechanical assembly drawings. Perform detailed inspections and create repair reports outlining findings and recommended corrective actions. Document all repair activities to ensure complete traceability and compliance with internal quality standards. Collaborate with Field Service Engineers and Technoprobe Italy technical teams to resolve advanced repair challenges and support technician training. Certification & Calibration Perform functional verification and certification of repaired products. Generate, review, and maintain calibration reports, certificates, and traceability documentation. Verify that repaired equipment meets both internal and customer specifications. Process & Quality Support Work closely with Engineering, Field Service, Production, and Quality teams to resolve test anomalies related to probe card and socket performance. Support validation and qualification activities for repair methods, fixtures, and measurement systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe work environment. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience repairing semiconductor test equipment, probe cards, sockets, or similar electromechanical devices. Strong understanding of electronics troubleshooting and mechanical assemblies. Experience using laboratory and metrology equipment such as microscopes, DMMs, power meters, probe card metrology systems, automated electrical testers, environmental chambers, X-ray inspection tools, and wafer probers. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, calibration procedures, and technical manuals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong documentation abilities. Highly Desired Physical & Technical Skills Exceptional fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Ability to perform intricate repairs on extremely small and delicate components under a microscope for extended periods. Steady hands with the precision required to manipulate miniature electrical contacts, probes, wires, and mechanical parts without causing damage. Ability to use precision tools such as tweezers, micro screwdrivers, probes, and specialized repair fixtures. Strong visual acuity and attention to microscopic detail. High level of patience, concentration, and accuracy while performing repetitive precision work. Preferred Experience with semiconductor equipment maintenance or probe card/socket testing. Background in electronics assembly, micro-soldering, PCB repair, precision manufacturing, medical device assembly, watchmaking, jewelry repair, or similar fields requiring exceptional manual dexterity. Additional Experience Considered Valuable Candidates with backgrounds in electronics repair, microscope assembly, PCB rework, micro-soldering, watch repair, jewelry repair, medical device assembly, optical instrument assembly, or other precision technical work requiring exceptional hand dexterity are strongly encouraged to apply.
