Fab Technician III (TEMP)

The Coherent Santa Rosa location's Fiber Optic Division specializes in the production of advanced fiber optic filters used in telecommunication networks worldwide. These high-performance components enable the transmission of large volumes of data at exceptionally high speeds across global fiber optic infrastructure. Our manufacturing process integrates a range of sophisticated automation technologies to transform raw optical glass into precision engineered fiber optic filters. The finished components are extremely compact, similar in size to a quarter-carat diamond, while meeting stringent performance and quality standards.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrates a strong understanding of the critical importance of optical flatness in the polishing and grinding of telecom wafers and coupons. Inspect and prepare raw optical wafers Verify material specifications and cleanliness before processing optical glass Operate precision grinding equipment to thin wafers to required tolerances. Select appropriate grinding compounds, pads, and tooling based on material type Perform fine polishing to achieve required surface finish and flatness

Job Requirements:

Reliable and Accountable Strong sense of ownership Quality first mindset Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent Experience with networked PC based computer systems. Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Skills Minimum of 2 years working in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in the Telecom Industry. Demonstrates a strong understanding of the critical importance of optical flatness in the polishing and grinding of telecom wafers and coupons. Strong ability to work independently and manage priorities in a production environment. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Working Conditions This role is 100% onsite Highly repetitive working conditions Swing shift 1:00pm

• 9:30pm PST shift deferential applies (Training for this position will occur on dayshift until fully trained) Due to the use of polishing compounds and loose abrasive compounds this job involves a moderately messy work environment.

Physical Requirements On occasion be able to lift 40lbs. Long periods of standing/walk Safety Requirements All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards. Consistently prioritize safety in all aspects of daily operations.
