Level 1 Technician

The intent of this Internship program is to offer real world experience to enrolled or graduating Information Technology candidates from nearby schools or those with equivalent Information Technology experience. You will work directly with Valley Techlogic in learning the skills necessary to become a Level 1 to 2 Technician in a fast paced medium sized business environment facilitated by our end user. No prior professional working experience is necessary for this role. The Internship program consists of one Intern for a maximum twelve-month term. Applicants will be asked to submit a résumé, a letter of interest in the program, and verification of meeting the minimum requirements. Your résumé should allow us to verify the educational experience you have to meet program requirements. Applications will be reviewed by our Quality Assurance Manager before being submitted to our Service Manager for final approval. This role is 100% onsite, the work will be fast paced and engaging and allow you to learn and express a variety of technical skills. Initially the job consists of shadowing and learning from one or more members of Valley Techlogic Staff at our Merced office location. Upon completion of initial training (30 days) Intern will begin working onsite at our end users location in Stockton, California. Salary for this position is ranges from $15.50 to $20 an hour depending on prior experience or education level achieved with applicable overtime pay of time and a half if needed. Intern would also be eligible for access to our 401k program as well as healthcare benefits during their time spent in the program. Office hours for this role are Monday through Friday 9 AM to 6 PM with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break and 2 15 minute paid breaks each day. The Internship Program is open to all existing IT students or those with equivalent IT experience. We're looking for someone that has: Completed coursework working towards an equivalent Associates Degree in: CIS, Computer Science, Database Management System, or Application/Web Development Has as least one full-time equivalent year of employment in an IT related position There will be an evaluation at the end of 30 days. The outcome of the evaluation will result in one of the following two decisions: Termination of the internship. Placement on client site for additional training for remainder of nine-month term. Participation and completion of this program does not guarantee the Intern a permanent position as a Level 1 Technician. You will learn the following skills in this program: How to submit and respond to tickets within a PSA (Professional Service Automation) system. End-user tech support. Troubleshooting. User account management. Detection of potential major incidents and problems. Proactive maintenance and Incident Management. Software installation. Issue documentation and resolution steps. Upon completion of the internship program you will receive two letters of recommendation from both Valley Techlogic and our end user as well as the right to use Valley Techlogic and our end user client as a work reference.
