Full-Time, Contract Job Summary The Cable Technician/Engineering Support is a contract position within the R+D Hardware Engineering team in Analytical Instruments. In this role, you will design and assemble cables to support research projects and new product development for launching new analytical instrumentation. This position is full-time and onsite in Boulder, CO. Duties and Responsibilities Create and update cable designs and bills of materials (BOMs) through the creation of detailed drawings Support prototyping capabilities through cable assembly Identify and source cable components such as connectors and wiring Support prototyping and testing capabilities by providing basic electrical system design and assembly (e.g., powering test fixtures) Collaborate with R+D engineers on cable designs for research, development, and new product introduction projects Coordinate with R+D engineers; troubleshoot cabling issues within instrumentation; and release designs to production using Engineering Change Orders and a Configuration Management process Communicate schedules, milestones, and project status to cross-functional teams Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Required Solid technical background with a basic understanding of electronics Experience using soldering and crimp tools for cable assembly Familiarity with component selection and procurement processes Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on troubleshooting approach when working in the lab during cable assembly and system-level hardware integration Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within larger cross-functional teams Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics Comfortable using hand tools in a lab environment Preferred Skills IPC 620 certification Experience with Microsoft Visio Experience with Altium Key Characteristics Excellent interpersonal skills with an emphasis on engagement, teamwork, and a positive attitude Self-starter with the ability to work independently, identify problems, formulate solutions, and manage priorities with minimal oversight Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail, time management, and multi-tasking Meticulous, with a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality deliverables Enjoys collaborating to develop solutions to technical challenges
Qualifications Required Education:
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Electronics Technology or Electronics Engineering, or higher
Required Experience:
