The role requires interpreting engineering documentation, identifying and resolving build issues, and maintaining strict quality standards. The technician works closely with engineering teams to improve assembly processes, ensure compliance with specifications, and support multiple product lines through hands-on technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration. Structured Description Position Overview This role supports the assembly, inspection, and validation of precision electrical and mechanical hardware across multiple product areas. The Hardware Technician is responsible for executing detailed build instructions, verifying compliance with engineering requirements, and documenting build performance and non-conformances. The position plays a key role in ensuring product quality and manufacturability by collaborating with engineering to resolve issues, improve assembly processes, and increase efficiency. Responsibilities include working with precision tools and measurement equipment, interpreting schematics and drawings, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts in a regulated, detail-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Interpret and follow detailed work instructions to assemble high-precision electrical and mechanical hardware. Inspect and verify assemblies meet engineering requirements from both electrical and mechanical perspectives. Identify non-conformances during build and communicate recommended resolutions to engineering. Maintain accurate build records, including work instructions, non-conformance reports, and labor tracking. Support builds across multiple product areas through cross-training and skill development. Contribute to process improvement by refining assembly methods and increasing efficiency. Perform all work with a high level of integrity and attention to detail. Maintain a consistent and reliable work schedule. Support additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications/Education:
2+ years of relevant experience, or a two-year technical degree with at least 1 year of hands-on experience. High school diploma or equivalent required. Demonstrated experience in precision electrical and mechanical assembly. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions. Familiarity with precision assembly tools and manufacturing techniques. Experience with measurement and test equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and multimeters. Working knowledge of GD&T (ANSI/ASME Y14.5) preferred. Strong manual dexterity and ability to work with small, delicate components. Solid problem-solving skills and clear communication abilities. Commitment to high-quality workmanship. Equivalent practical experience may be considered in place of formal education. Additional Requirements This is a temporary, on-site role for the greater Boulder metropolitan area. The term of this contract is expected to be 12-15 weeks. Must be a U.S Person under
EAR/ITAR
regulations (U.S Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.)
