) Solid understanding of power plant operations, electrical principles, and maintenance practices Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Instrument & Control Technician II (Senior Tech) to support the safe and efficient operation of a simple cycle gas power plant. This role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting instrumentation, control systems, and plant equipment, while ensuring compliance with operational and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Operations & Maintenance Perform routine and non-routine preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment Maintain, calibrate, and repair instrumentation and control devices , including CEMS Monitor system performance and execute corrective actions when operating limits are exceeded Support system startups and evaluate control and electrical support requirements Troubleshooting & Technical Support Diagnose and resolve issues using installed and portable test equipment and technical manuals Analyze test data and implement on-condition maintenance strategies Review and interpret P&IDs, control drawings, and system logic diagrams Systems & Process Improvement Support and maintain DCS platforms (e.g., GE Mark VI, ABB Bailey INFI 90) and PLC systems Recommend and implement system improvements based on cost/benefit analysis Assist in developing procedures related to instrumentation and electrical systems Coordination & Reporting Coordinate job planning, work methods, and reporting for assigned tasks Maintain documentation for calibration, testing, and certification records Communicate system conditions and key updates to plant personnel and leadership Safety & Compliance Follow all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Maintain strong internal safety practices and contribute to a positive work environment Additional Duties Operate plant mobile equipment (forklift, man lift, etc.) Support general site maintenance, including buildings and grounds Assist team members and support plant needs outside normal hours as required Occasional travel may be required Preferred Experience Experience with GE Mark VI, ABB Bailey INFI 90, and various PLC controllers Familiarity with CEMS systems (Teledyne Monitor Labs or similar) Programming and configuration capabilities for control systems Background in combined cycle or gas power plant environments This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a senior-level technician who thrives in a technical environment and brings strong expertise in instrumentation, controls, and power plant operations.
