Entry-Level Engineering Technician (Cleanroom Manufacturing)

Compressed Work Week (CWW) - Days & Nights Available Perfect for Recent Engineering or Technical Graduates Are you a recent college graduate , engineering technology major , or trade school graduate looking to start your career in advanced manufacturing? This entry-level Engineering Technician role offers hands-on experience building and testing cutting-edge mechanical and electrical systems in a cleanroom environment—ideal for individuals who enjoy problem-solving, working with their hands, and growing toward an engineering career. You'll receive structured training, mentorship from experienced engineers and technicians, and exposure to semiconductor manufacturing , one of the fastest-growing high-tech industries. What You'll Do Build, Test & Learn Assemble and test complex mechanical and electrical systems in a cleanroom setting Follow work instructions, drawings, and bills of materials Perform functional testing and support troubleshooting activities Learn full system integration from sub-assemblies to final test Quality & Continuous Improvement Identify and report assembly or test issues Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective actions Support Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement projects Help improve processes using data, testing, and feedback New Product Exposure Assist with pilot builds and new product introductions (NPI) Support updates to work instructions and technical documentation Provide feedback to engineering on manufacturability and process improvements Team Collaboration Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams Learn best practices from senior technicians and engineers Share ideas and contribute to team success Who This Role Is For This role is entry level and designed for candidates early in their careers who are eager to learn. Required (Foundational Skills You May Have Gained in School or Labs) Ability to read basic blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings Mechanical or electrical aptitude Comfortable using hand tools Willingness to learn testing, troubleshooting, and documentation Strong attention to detail and quality Nice-to-Have (We Can Help You Develop These) Internship, co-op, lab, or shop experience Exposure to manufacturing, assembly, or test environments Basic electronics or electrical troubleshooting Familiarity with Lean concepts (5S, Kaizen) Experience working in cleanrooms or regulated environments Education Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred Engineering Engineering Technology Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field Trade school or technical certification strongly considered Equivalent hands-on technical experience will be evaluated Training & Schedule Training Initial training occurs on 2nd or 3rd shift for ~4-6 weeks Full training provided—no cleanroom experience required Compressed Work Week - Night Shift All shifts: 12 hours, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM 15% night shift differential Daily overtime built into schedule CWW N1 Shift Week 1: Sun-Tues Week 2: Sun-Wed (every other Wednesday) CWW N2 Shift Week 1: Wed-Sat Week 2: Thurs-Sat (+ every other Wednesday) Work Environment Cleanroom manufacturing facility Standing, detailed assembly, and testing work Strong focus on safety, quality, and procedure Professional, high-tech production setting Why Start Your Career Here Join one of Connecticut's top employers Hands-on experience with cutting-edge semiconductor technology Clear career path toward Engineering, Process, or Manufacturing roles Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Danbury, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
