- Job Description The Job Site Security Technician executes a variety of technical tasks in a field operations environment, focusing on the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of security-related equipment and systems.
This role ensures the functionality and reliability of low-voltage technologies by performing on-site work, conducting system testing, and providing technical support to customers. The position requires strong technical proficiency, practical problem-solving skills, and clear communication with both clients and internal team members. Responsibilities Perform on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of security-related equipment and low-voltage systems. Install and service various low-voltage systems, including associated cabling and hardware components. Conduct site surveys to assess technical requirements, existing infrastructure, and optimal equipment placement. Configure hardware and software to ensure proper integration and operation within the overall system. Test systems and components to verify proper operation, reliability, and compliance with performance expectations. Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and service interruptions. Provide clear and professional technical support to customers at job sites, addressing questions and explaining system functionality. Document work performed, including installations, maintenance activities, and repairs, in accordance with established procedures. Collaborate with team members to coordinate field activities and ensure smooth execution of projects. Operate company vehicles safely when traveling between the Pentagon jobsite and surrounding contract buildings. Essential Skills 4-5 years of experience with electronics installation and/or maintenance. Hands-on experience with installation and service of various low-voltage systems. Proficiency in cabling installation and working with low-voltage systems. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a field environment. Ability to configure and test hardware and software for proper system operation. Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and team members. Valid driver's license for travel between job sites. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience conducting site surveys and documenting technical requirements. Ability to work independently in the field while following established procedures. Strong attention to detail when installing, testing, and maintaining systems. Work Environment This is a full-time field-based role with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Work is primarily performed at the Pentagon and surrounding buildings within the contract area. The position involves on-site installation and service work in secure facilities, requiring adherence to site-specific protocols and procedures. You will work with low-voltage systems, cabling, and related electronic equipment in an active building environment, often moving between different locations during the day and traveling by vehicle between jobsites. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $41.00/hr.
