Automation & Controls Technician Job Description Join a growing and industry-leading company in Auburndale, FL as an Automation & Controls Technician. This position offers an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic team, contributing to the maintenance and automation department of an expanding enterprise. Responsibilities Perform advanced maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Execute hands-on tasks involving VFD and PLC wiring. Troubleshoot low and high-voltage systems effectively. Install and maintain electrical control panels and wiring systems. Diagnose and repair motors, drives, and relays. Repair components requiring welding, plumbing, or fabrication. Replace high-load components such as bearings, shafts, and actuators. Perform maintenance on motors (3-phase, AC, DC), conveyors, compressors, valves, chains, bearings, sprockets, press machines, and clutch brakes. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately. Essential Skills Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems. Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting - programming not required. Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance. Hands-on experience with VFDs and HMIs. Ability to work with robotics, mechatronics, and pneumatics. Knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Leadership experience. Experience in networking and controls systems. CapX project experience. Effective documentation skills. Familiarity with ladder and relay logic. Experience with conveyors and sensors. Be open to training on the 1st shift and working both the 1st and 2nd shifts, from 5am to 1:30pm and 1:30pm to 10pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburndale, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.00/hr.
