ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Duties will include the operation and maintenance of lasers, blast sensors, and standard frame rate digital video cameras, using local and remote control systems, recorders, timing systems, computers, and other data collection equipment. Other duties will require the ability to modify and install computer program changes to meet mission requirements, work with engineering during system modifications, and have a thorough knowledge of computer utilization. Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job related areas such as PIPR, Security and Safety, TMDE, HAZMAT, etc. as required. Will be used through cross-utilization to support other systems in the Explosive Test Section as required. Overtime and TDY may be required.
GENERAL DUTIES
Repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, laser, electro-optics, infrared, telemetry, and communications systems, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices. The successful incumbent applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance. Must be qualified to operate; maintain; repair; and modify complex state-of-the-art electronic, electro-optical and electro-mechanical equipment. Must be systems oriented and have the ability and knowledge to consolidate component sub-systems and assemblies into a workable system. This position reports to the site supervisor and will be required to perform electronic circuit analysis and mathematical calculations typically encountered in the fabrication, maintenance, modification, and repair of electronic systems. Must be qualified to operate; maintain; repair; and modify complex state-of-the-art electronic, electro-optical, and electro- mechanical equipment. Must be able to walk steps and work in high areas. Tracker towers are outside and up to 50' off the ground. Must be experienced and proficient in the operations and maintenance of the LASER and
BLAST SYSTEMS
used to support Eglin AFB test missions and to accomplish maintenance and mission support objectives, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of assigned systems/equipment at Test Site C-7, on Range C-72 at Eglin AFB. Additional responsibilities include administrative, logistic, and quality control duties. Knowledge of
NETWORKING
is highly desired. Required to assist in planning and implementing complex electronic assignments utilizing general instructions from the supervisor or from the engineering staff. Required to climb, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, pull, or carry heavy items. Will be required to work overtime and weekends as needed. Required to use and wear appropriate safety equipment. Other duties may be assigned to support requirements in job-related areas such as environmental, safety, and security.

OTHER DUTIES
Other functions include assisting in the orientation and training of other technicians at this level when directed by the supervisor. May be assigned additional responsibilities as a lead technician. Will perform general housekeeping and other job related tasks of a non-technical nature such as cleaning the interior and exterior of vehicles and support vans, corrosion control, painting, lawn care, and others. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Must be a technical or service school graduate and have five years' experience as an Electronic Technician. Required to have thorough knowledge of electronic troubleshooting, repair, installation, and operation of GLLD lasers, blast sensors, and associated equipment. Must have thorough knowledge of components and system characteristics to enable the selection of replacement parts to maintain high-speed digital and standard digital video cameras, remote systems, encoders, power source, computer controls. Knowledge of camera configurations is required. Required to have thorough knowledge of the C-7 Environmental Conditioning Chambers and software. Requires manual dexterity necessary to perform repairs and modifications to small assemblies such as integrated circuit boards. Will be required to coordinate scheduled maintenance, task requirements, and assist engineering with the development and design of operational improvements. Knowledge of the C-7 Blast computer operations and ability to utilize specialized software to accomplish mission's data acquisition is required. Should possess a good understanding of C-7 Target setup and testing and possess leadership qualities to guide in various setup situations.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
May perform work assignments in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment. Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments in heat or cold with exposure to the conditions typical of various work locations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Required to climb, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, pull, or carry heavy items.
