Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. We are seeking Rework Operators for an established company in the Jacksonville, FL area who will be assembling solar panels in an environment controlled, manufacturing facility.
Schedule:
6pm to 6am, 2 days on/ 2 days off/ 3 days on/ 2 days off/ 2 days on/ 3 days off
Pay:
$18.25/hr Job Duties of the
Rework Operator:
Defect Identification and Repair:
  • Determine the necessary repairs for each string/module by inspecting the product's physical condition, referencing defect locations, and analyzing the electroluminescence (EL) image where available.
  • Repair 80+ strings/modules per shift using tools such as tweezers, flux pens, Teflon sheets, soldering irons, scissors, and wire cutters.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed without causing additional damage to fragile silicon solar cells by handling materials and tools with care.
Quality Inspection:
  • Perform visual and physical inspections of completed repairs, checking for defects like cold solder using techniques such as the finger swipe method.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy throughout the repair process.
Documentation and Data Entry:
  • Record daily repair activities, including the number of strings/panels repaired, time spent on each repair, defect type, and associated barcodes.
  • Enter data accurately into the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) using computers, keyboards, scanners, and other relevant technology.
Material Handling:
  • Load and unload rework trays (10-15 lbs.
) into carts and onto line machinery as part of the repair process.
Troubleshooting and Escalation:
  • Troubleshoot basic conveyor and equipment issues, escalating more complex problems to the equipment team as necessary.
