Job Description

The Electronic Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, evaluation, calibration, and repair of customer and company owned equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform electronic and mechanical repairs to component level, and calibrate and evaluate all equipment and products as required. Assemble hand pieces, optical products and various types of mechanical, pneumatic and electronic products according to specifications and procedures. Solder components to printed circuit boards and solder various types of connections and work with test equipment in the calibration and evaluation of ConMed and supplier's product. Use a variety of manual and automatic tools and equipment to include DVM and oscilloscope. Test production product to ensure proper operation per established test criteria. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems to determine root cause of issue and recommend corrective action. Recognize failures and set up problems, isolate problems, and take appropriate action. Observes all safety rules and regulations including the wearing of protective equipment when required. Will report any unsafe conditions to management. Sustains and maintains 5S standards and all continuous improvement activities. Be willing and able to continually rotate through a variety of manufacturing processes, performing all types of tasks in a cell/team environment. Help train other employees in proper techniques and procedure to produce defect free parts. May conduct detailed experimental testing. Perform other related tasks not limited to but including housekeeping tasks required to maintain a clean and organized work area.
Work Experience Requirements:
3+ years of electronic diagnostic experience and component level troubleshooting is strongly preferred
Preferred Education:
An AA/AS degree in a field related to electronics and four years of electronic diagnostic experience is preferred. Equivalent electronic certification and related experience may be considered if the candidate can demonstrate a comparable working knowledge of electronics.
Knowledge Requirements:
Solid problem solving, digital and analog skills, as well as troubleshooting ability. Exhibit competence in component functionality and possess ability to complete advanced skills demonstration. Ability to define electrical terms and theory such as current, voltage, Ohms law applications, etc.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform work at a workbench height of 37.5" to 42", sit and stand as necessary, move about, bend, stop, use hands and lift up to 40 lbs as needed. 0% Travel This position is not eligible for employer-based visa sponsorship.
