Engineering Technician

  • Full-time, Contract Engineer Technician This position's responsibilities are a combination of two roles
  • PA (Project Administrator) and Project Control Technician (PCT).
You will become proficient with various tools and serve as a Subject Matter Expert, providing cross-departmental support for questions related to documentation, internal processes, and external supplier submissions. You will need to be proactive and trusted with confidential information, ensuring that documents are handled and distributed according to classification codes while adhering to
ISO 9001
requirements. Project Administrator (PA) The PA acts as the focal point for processing, tracking, and distributing project drawings, documents, and other required software deliverables. The PA receives direction for distribution from the PLE and PM. In addition, the
PA:
  • Works with the project team to determine project specific routing/approval requirements of technical and commercial documentation, including electronic and hard copy submittals as applicable.
  • Monitors all parties for compliance to technical documentation processing procedures, quality standards, and project schedules to ensure timely milestone payments and avoidance of software Late Deliverables
  • Maintains database to track technical documentation ensuring accuracy of data and document status reports.
  • Expedites the manual line item on the Master Document List (MDL) to be received 90 days in advance.
  • Works with the technical publications' personnel with regards to the completeness of supplier supplied literature
  • Tracks commitments on MDLs, External Distribution List (EDLs), vendor drawing lists and other supplier documents.
  • Processes Engineering Change in Manufacturing Information (ECMIs)
  • takes appropriate action as indicated by the ECMI comments and in accordance with internal processes.
  • Work closely with contractual deliverables with customers and 3rd part engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction company (EPC)
  • Learn to use outside tools aligned with customers and engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction company Project Control Technician (PCT) The PCT is the focal point for processing, tracking, and distributing internal project documents and required software deliverables.
The PCT works with engineering in the routing of Design Specs and Engineering Specs through the signoff and approval of the ERL. In addition, the
PCT:
  • Assists the Project Control Expert (PCE) during the Engineering Kickoff Process in accordance with procedure 003-00264 (during the PE@SE "Project Clarification Phase" that ends at PM100)
  • Processes Engineering Release Letter (ERLs) through ERSR in IDEA (primarily occurring during the PE@SE "Supply Chain Management Phase" that ends at PM400)
  • Processes RSheets within IDEA, triggering the Engineering Tech (external customer) to process the supplier documentation.
  • Processes Engineering Specifications (ESpecs) within Scheduling tools, including verifying the validity of document approvals for ESpecs and ensuring that the data is within scheduling tool.
  • Maintains the project specific engineering data in ERSR to ensure accuracy and completeness through reviews and interaction with engineering personnel.
  • Reviews the ERL to align the "Document Number," "Revision Level," "DCC Code" and "EDL Code" fields.
  • Reviews ERSR reports to ensure on-time release.
  • Supports the Lead Engineer (LE) during development and maintenance of frame models.
