Job Description
This is a skilled labor position. This position is responsible for work in the repair and maintenance of various instrumentation and control systems within the Public Utilities Department.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
Perform inspection, maintenance, calibration and repair of water and wastewater plant instrumentation and controls. Perform inspection, maintenance, calibration and repair of ground storage/pump station, potable supply wells and sewer lift station instrumentation telemetry and controls. Perform inspection, calibration and maintenance on various electronic components including AC/DC electronics, digital and analog drives and controls, instrumentation control loops, variable frequency drives, programmable logic controllers (PLC) and flow meters and transmitters. Perform inspection, calibration and repair of Data Flow & VT SCADA & Plant PAX systems. Review instrumentation and control systems for new construction as well as for upgrading and replacement of current systems. Order parts and supplies as needed and maintain inventory of tools, equipment and spare parts. Attend work promptly and regularly. Perform related work as required. These additional duties may be representative of tasks typically performed by those in a lesser or more advanced job grade.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is part of the City's Emergency Management Team and, as such, shall be expected to perform all duties that are assigned during an emergency management operation. Any additional compensation, above the normal weekly salary shall be outlined by the City Manager in the City's Emergency Management Activation and Emergency Declaration. Failure to appear to perform emergency management assignment and to work assigned shifts as scheduled by the City's Emergency Management Director or individuals designated by the City Manager to assign such functions will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.EDUCATIONANDEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Five (5) years' experience in instrumentation controls repair and maintenanceREQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES A
valid Florida driver's license is required. Knowledge of schematics and equipment specifications. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret work related documents. Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic mathematical concepts related to this position. Ability to follow and interpret instructions furnished in written and oral format. Ability to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions that are in accordance with laws, ordinances, and established principles. Ability to effectively present information in written and oral format to individuals and small or large groups. Ability to use tools and equipment related to this position.Similar remote jobs
