In this entry-level role, you will work under supervision to perform routine maintenance, basic evaluations, and introductory troubleshooting on highly automated plant systems This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a safety-first mindset. Key Responsibilities Perform basic electrical and mechanical maintenance and minor machine repairs. Conduct designated preventive and predictive maintenance on facility infrastructure. Troubleshoot standard electrical control and lower-voltage distribution circuits. Replace standard components like light bulbs, switches, and basic relays. Reference basic PLC system status lights to report errors to senior technicians. Complete routine filter changes, checks, and lubrication on compressed air, motor, and pump systems Execute structural facility upkeep, including minor carpentry, painting, and drywall touch-ups. Maintain and test key equipment like HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, and access controls. Use digital multimeters and ampere meters to safely check circuit continuity and voltage. Log daily tasks, clock hours, and process work orders via company CMMS software. Identify and request spare parts using parts manuals and OEM service drawings. Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Trade School:
Ongoing pursuit of a technical certificate or active trade school enrollment.
Experience:
0 to 1 year of formal vocational exposure or technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Exposure:
0 to 1 year of exposure to automated systems (compressed air, building HVAC, or fluid pumps).
Technical Skills:
Ability to use basic digital multimeters and read fundamental blueprints.
Math Skills:
Core math capabilities for shop measurements and tool sizing.
Soft Skills:
Strong professional communication, logical problem-solving, and a team-player attitude. Beneficial Skills & Experience (Nice-to-Haves) Associate's degree in a technical field or a completed post-secondary trade certificate. 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience with automated facility equipment like chillers, cooling towers, and compressors. Proficiency with basic office computer software (Outlook, Excel, Word) and specialized maintenance tracking systems.
Physical Demands & Requirements Frequency:
Must be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, reach, and handle materials.
Agility:
Ability to occasionally climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend during repairs.
Lifting:
Frequently lift unassisted weights up to 20 pounds; occasionally lift 21 to 40 pounds.
Pushing/Pulling:
Frequently push or pull unassisted forces up to 25 pounds.
