Job Description:
Work as member of Joint USE/Fiber Make Ready Team to design communication line attachments to existing overhead utility poles in compliance with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and utility standards. Occasionally conduct field assessments and pole surveys to evaluate existing conditions and pole loading capacity. Occasionally assist in Storm Restoration Support. Utilize design software and GIS tools to create detailed construction drawings and layout plans. Analyze pole loading, clearance requirements, and make-ready conditions for new attachments. Prepare make-ready engineering (MRE) documentation, bills of material (BOM), and work packages for construction crews. Ensure adherence to permitting requirements, safety standards, and right-of-way constraints. Track project progress and maintain accurate records and data for compliance and reporting. Quickly advance into QAQC role to support growing team. Joint use program, fiber design Supporting client with review of field data including post-inspecting construction, and using that data to create engineering designs for new communication attachments or clear any safety violations
Must- Haves:
Previous distribution knowledge Understanding of National Electric Safety Code GIS Software or other design software (CAD) General Computer/early professional skills Valid Driver's License/Maintain rental car Joint Use design experience Good communication skills
Accountability Nice-To- Haves:
JETS experience is plus Excel experience
Work Management Software Experience Degree Requirements:
BS GIS, Engineering Technology or related
