Job Description
Position Summary:
The Automation and Electrical Lead is responsible for leading, maintaining, and optimizing all automation systems, control infrastructure, and electrical assets within the manufacturing sites. This role ensures the reliable operation of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation and power distribution, while driving continuous improvement and supporting CapEx projects. The position acts as the technical authority for automation and electrical, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.Core Duties and Responsibilities:
(Other duties may be assigned) Lead troubleshooting and optimization of automated systems. Oversee the maintenance and improvement of electrical distribution systems (low and medium voltage). Manage site automation architecture, including network integrity, cybersecurity, and backups. Provide electrical and automation expertise in root cause analysis, safety investigations, and asset reliability. Develop and maintain control system documentation, loop drawings, panel schematics, and programs/backups. Lead and support the execution and commissioning of CapEx projects involving electrical or automation scope. Coordinate external contractors, vendors and integrators for upgrades and system modifications. Ensure compliance with NFPA 70, NEC, OSHA, and relevant electrical/automation standards. Develop and deliver training for Maintenance Technicians, Supervisors and Operators on control systems and safe electrical practices. Identify and lead automation and energy efficiency improvement opportunities.Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED with 2-3 years related experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment. Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial automation and electrical systems. Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming. Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, power systems and control panel design. Familiarity with industrial safety standards and codes (NFPA 70E, Arc Flash, Lockout/Tagout). Experience withCMMS, OT
networks, and SCADA platforms. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field. Experience in batch or continuous manufacturing (chemical, pharmaceutical, food, or agrochemical industries). Certification in electrical safety or automation platforms (e.g., TIA Portal, RSLogix, NFPA 70E). Experience in project management or leadership of cross-functional teams. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.Key Competencies:

Must be able to stand up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to lift/move up to 75 pounds occasionally. Must be able to work at heights up to 40 feet. Must be able to climb, bend and stoop. Must be able to see and hear. Must be able to wear PPE such as safety glasses, hard hats, gloves, hearing protection, and respirators. Must be able to work overtime when required, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to take call, including after shift hours, weekends and holidays.Work Environment:
